Kyle Cannon Benefit (11.20.09)
Submitted by nhcadmin on Fri, 11/20/2009 - 21:25In what is expected to be the largest crowd ever to see a Ohio High School Hockey Game, the Anthony Wayne Generals will play the Clay Eagles on Friday January 1st at 2:00 PM at the new Lucas County Arena. The non-league game will be played to benefit the Kyle Cannon Fund. Kyle suffered a spinal injury early last season in Dayton.
Each team will wear special jerseys commemorating the game which will be auctioned following the game. All proceeds will be donated to Kyle to help defray some of the costs associated with Kyle's injuries.
Other activities will include a raffle for an autographed Red Wings jersey by Gordie Howe, and Walleye Jersey autographed by the inaugural team players and a variety of sports memorabilia provided by Hall of Framers in Waterville and many other items of interest to hockey fans.
Both teams will be selling Walleye Ticket Vouchers to cover the cost off hosting the game in the new arena.
